I think an upgrade kit probably won't be possible. I'm not sure if there are any in-line design changes to those issues, but I'll shoot them over to our product folks. Also - since the boss dropped this in his thread on GD, I'm pretty confident I can share this much.  |

Piston changes, spring changes, things of that nature. Maybe even bolt/carrier updates, assuming Gen3 things would fit in a Gen2 upper.If they made substantial barrel updates/changes, or changes in receiver geometry, or other baked in changes like that - that would make some updates to how the upper operates as a whole that can't be transferred to an older upper...that's another kettle of fish. Edited to add - one of the reasons I'm asking, other than I'd like to update my upper with any reliability updates is that if the Gen3 makes a bunch of baked in reliability changes that aren't Gen2 compatible...well, that leaves us with Gen2 (and Gen1) uppers in a bind. Who's going to buy a used "not as good as Gen3" upper. See - all the Sig MCX, MCX Patrol, MCX Virtus, and now MCX ...whatever their 4th gen upper/rifle is...most of which isn't compatible with each other, and Sig's dropped support for all but the latest iteration or two...and the earlier adopters can't sell their old stuff to roll into new generations for love or money

Honestly, in 300bo, if it's reliable and if the gas system lets a user run supers and subs, suppressed and unsuppressed, reliably - a 8" might be enough to get me to SBR my BRN lower that they don't make anymore vs just living with a brace on it... Very much a "Sig Rattler we have at home"

I may have ordered a .300 BLK Gen 3 today. It was on the site and would let me cart it. When I went to check out it gave me a restricted notice. (Not Possible, I'm In Texas) I called in and they seem to have placed the order for me manually. I have a confirmed order email and a pending hold from Brownells on my card. I hope the order goes through. |
