Our magazines give you the ability to use a Mil-Spec Lower and swap any different Mil-Spec upper so you can easily swap calibers. With new ICAR lowers they are limited to whatever calibers (6mm ARC, .338 ARC, etc.) that magazine pattern will accept. |

Although we do not have any firm dates for Uppers/parts quite yet, it is something on our radar. With the GFR finally getting to market in good numbers (Euro Optic, Murffs, CROW, Primary Arms) it is the natural progression of things. Once we have more information we will be happy to share it. |

You can use a standard lower, although the upper/rifle itself is built from the ground up for 6mm ARC they are compatible. In regard to standalone uppers it is something we have talked about, but no firm plans yet. We are working hard to get GFR inventory to our dealers and our webstore as PRS season is almost here. Our goal is to always get quality product to you as quickly as possible, but if stand alone uppers are high in demand we always want to get that feedback to our project teams. |
| I cant speak for everyone but Id prefer a standalone upper as I already have a ton of lowers. Also it seems the best part of this rifle is in the upper. Selling just upper receivers will also allow more people to get into the G 6mm arc game as the price of a complete rifle is not cheap. |

We can answer it in two parts, what is different and what it features. - What is different? We added a plunger in the rear of the lower to remove any play between the receivers. -What does it Feature? The new GFR stock gives a great cheek-weld and adjustment is a breeze. A Super 42 and GFR-E Trigger (wide body SSA-E with M4 Curve) tuned for the GFR gives you an amazing pairing for the GFR upper. The GFR-E is tuned for the GFR but you can see similar performance with an SSA-EX trigger. If you are a fan of the M4 curve the GFR-E is a nice addition. There are several parts of the GFR users want to see as standalone items, bolts, barrels, stocks, triggers, Cam-Race Upper with barrel extension. These are hopefully all in our future, but at the moment we focusing hard on getting the rifles out to dealers and our website. The 14.5" is arguably one of the most popular variants of the rifle, due to the performance we are able to get from the shorter barrels with 6mm ARC. We are aware of that, we just happen to release a bunch of 18" and 20" RECCEs and some Stratomatch rifles as the competitions series is around the corner. Good to know about the performance with the 14.5 length. I was planning to go with a longer barrel but I'll check velocity charts to see what best suits my goals Every day I hope for an in-stock notification plus I check the GFR web page often, just because...I really hope that GFRs become available on the Geissele web site soon! |
| I finally had a chance to take my GFR shooting. Started at 35 yards and took 4 shots to dial in where I needed it compared to ballistic app I was using. I was shooting steel from 112 yards to 175 yards and watching the impacts in the scope. Extremely smooth shooting with hardly any recoil perceived. I need to get my log going and figure out my drops. I shoot a lot of 308 but this will probably change that. I was running a Huxwrx.308 suppressor and ejection was about 4-5 feet at 3 o’clock position. I bought this to whitetail hunt in Virginia without all the weight of the gas .308. Well worth the money. |

Currently we are working on a large backlog of 6mm and 22 ARC GFR MOD1s. As we continue to see 6mm ARC's wide adoption over the industry the demand is only increasing. If there comes a point where we can feasibly sell uppers as standalone items, just like our Super Duty we would, we just do not have any firm plans at the moment. If we decide to make standalone uppers we will be happy to let you know! |
