Gauge barrel to see if .223 or 5.56

Are you able to gauge a barrel to see if it is .223 or 5.56? I got a great deal on an 11.5 inch barrel that was advertised as being 5.56 but it is stamped .223. Thanks!

Thank you! To have it gauged and assembled into an upper would I just choose the AR15 upper assembly option? Or would I add an additional service to check?
