I love my new Tantal! I encountered just one problem with the build. The gap between the floor of the receiver and the bottom of the front trunnion is just a bit too narrow. I filed the lug on my bottom handguard to fit, but this is unique to this gun in my VERY limited experience. A test fit of a Magpul AKM handguard, a different Tantal bottom and a generic wooden one all have the same issue with the gap being too narrow. Just a couple of millimeters. Just enough that you can't get the lug into the gap. I repeat that I am happy with my receiver and the resulting rifle! I'm not looking for a replacement or repair. This is just to let you guys know. I'm probably just the victim of tolerance stack-up with a short receiver and tall trunnion. |
