I recently purchased a scope, rings, and base. A few days afterward, I received shipping notification that the scope and rings are shipping; however the mount was not listed as one of the items shipping. After proactively emailing to inquire about why the mount was not listed, I received this response:
----------------------
"Chris,
We apologize for the delay. However at this time we have not been given an ETA as to when we will receive our shipment of that item in from the manufacturer. All back orders are filled in the order in which they were received. Please let me know if I can assist you with anything else."
----------------------
When I ordered the item, there was no indication that it was out of stock. Currently on your website, I can add it to my cart without any such indication.
What am I supposed to do with a scope, rings, and no base for my bolt action rifle? When did you plan to actually tell me that one of the three items I ordered was out of stock? Do you normally not tell customers that you have no idea when you will be able to ship them something they ordered until they receive their partial shipment and realize something is missing?
This seems like shady business to me. I thought very highly of you before this interaction. The one saving grace I have with you is that you did not charge me for the backordered item. Regardless, it was misleading that you allowed me to place my order without any notification.
Lesson Learned: Call SWFA to place orders and confirm with them verbally that everything you ordered is in stock and will ship in one package.
