My buddy and I have the same barrel - middy lw 16. Mine has chrome spill all over the face of the barrel as seen through the barrel extension. On his barrel, the chrome barely peaks out of the chamber. I would accept either, but I like consistency, which one of these is the norm with these guys, if there is a norm? | The method in which we mask the chamber before the barrel is phosphated may have changed. I doubt there's anything to be concerned about, but if you want to send it in, contact our warranty department and we'll be happy to take a look at if for you. |

But it's not that simple. I have a barrel from 2020 that has the whole face chromed. The guy I talk to on the phone has a barrel from 2018 that looks the same as this one from 2020. In my humble opinion, it's better to have the chrome there and there's probably explains why most barrels that are chrome lined do as well. My best guess is that you have two different plating houses doing two different processes I'm gonna take a look later at the Colt print and see where the chrome is supposed to go. |
