Looking for more info on the colt cleaning rod pictured below(bottom one in pic, numbers 5 and 6) I recall having one in kit for an older 6920(circa 08/09) but don’t recall specs on it. It appears to possibly have an 8-32 pitch on the threads and is similar to earlier sp1 cleaning rods in that it doesn’t have a rotating handle. Can anyone confirm the the thread pitch for me? And anyone have a source/ part number for them? Attached File |

This style older rod set is typically 8x32. I think the military specified 8x36 to prevent troops from using commercial cleaning rod attachments and oversized brushes. Likely families were sending commercial cleaning stuff to the boys in ‘Nam early on and causing complications or additional problems on top of early fielding problems. I recently picked a complete rod and handle set at a surplus shop in Maryland for $1.95.    Last picture is shows rod screwed into a 8x32 thread checker. OP’s image looks to show that style rod set with same “course” thread, not finer 8x36. |

I got one Chinese kits the threads appear to be 4mmx.7 mm The package states rifle pistol and shotgun. As far as I know Wally has no brushes that will fit their threads. I have made an adapter, 8x36 to 8x32.female To get around the 4mmx.7 mm I justed chased it to 8x36. I chose 8x36 as I have US GI rods as well, to keep things simple the 4mmx.7mm still screws into the 8x36 female |

I got 2 sets in from chemtrailz. they are 8x32 thread 3 sections and handle no slotted Tip. Part number 21P-14-CB Plastic bag was also labeled 8-32 THREAD |
