I ran across a listing for a colt SCW parts kit with a Maxim CQB stock, after looking at the Colt resource page it seems that after the Colt folding stock was discontinued Colt started using the Maxim stock for the SCW. My question is did Colt continue marking the lowers with the SCW SN# and rollmark or did they just use the standard M4 Carbine rollmark? Also did anybody get one of the AU SCW police trade ins? I was wondering if they lower was used or did they build these up from used uppers and their new lowers. |

I got an LE trade in SCW about a month ago. It’s an SCW marked lower; the SCW portion is unfired. The upper is a 6933 with surefire light; definitely shot a bit. Attached File |

| As I understand it, the 10.3" M5 + the Maxim kit = the new Colt SCW. I hope that's right because that's what I have. I haven't put it all together yet though. AU still has a boatload of the old SCW lower halves. They have a listing that combines them with M5 uppers, but I'm 99% sure that's just an AU concoction and not a real Colt offering. |

Originally Posted By Bret: If I remember correctly, there's a special bolt carrier that I don't see pictured. It's possible that I'm confusing the old with the new one. I'll check when I get home. The earlier kit used the stock BCG. The newer generation uses a shorter receiver extension which lead to the need for a different BCG and buffer. |
