I thought I would make you guys aware of a safety recall published by Colt today. The recall has occurred because Colt identified that some hammers that were out of Colt specification were used in some rifle/carbine assembly since roughly March of 2021. They have set up a good website that has a lot of information to include firearm model, lower receiver markings and serial number ranges affected by the safety recall. The website is a one stop shop for information and serial number submission to Colt. When you enter a serial number into the inquiry system at https://coltrepairmsr.com/ that is not affected by the recall, you will receive this email. My email was found in my 'spam' folder. A circled (4) is not recalled. Has to be an F4. And not all serial #s in the affected range will have the defective hammers. |

It had a step on it that wouldn’t allow it to seat fully. Colt wouldn’t just send me the pin and I wasn’t sending the rifle back for it. |

Besides, I don't trust trying to ship with FedEx. They've been acting fucky about individuals shipping firearms and firearms parts lately. |

Mine falls within the recall range but isn't marked F1 - F4 like the hammers in the Colt image. Regardless it was replaced with the "extra mass" hammer like used in the 9mm AR6951. The SIG M400 Tread carbine has a factory installed "extra mass" hammer and the M400 lower doesn't have a pseudo sear block like Colt.

| So I don’t really want to ship my rifle and took a flyer by ordering a Colt hammer/trigger kit from Arms Unlimited (SPK99795). Don’t do it. The hammer is marked F1. I’ll give Colt a call later this week...wonder if I can send in the kit from AU as opposed to my rifle. It’s in Colt marked packaging. |
