You have to call early in the morning when CS opens. Your picture is why I stopped buying new Colts. I've personally bought more than one that came worse than that and have since heard many, many other stories of bad QC from Colt. The last straw was having to get a refund after 3 months of the run around from Colt. I got told a different lie every time I talked to someone. I had to find the CS manager's email address on LinkedIn and then emailed her directly to get any movement. Good luck. |

My bet would be that someone did that after it left Colt. Perhaps it was used as a display piece. It's either that or someone at Colt absolutely doesn't care about his job or the future of the company. Regardless, that's a terrible customer service experience. BTW, I have a trick that has saved me from similar experiences at least twice and probably more. When I order a pistol online, I add the following to the comments field during checkout: "Please verify that this firearm is absolutely new in the box as received from the factory and has not been used as a display piece or otherwise fondled." Since doing this, I received one phone call telling me that they found a scratch on a pistol and couldn't fulfill the order. I also received an email to the same effect about another order I placed, though I forget what it was for. I've also had my FFL dealer send a couple of firearms back that arrived with cosmetic issues. The note eliminates them trying to debate the issue, even if it arrived from the factory with the cosmetic blemish. |

There's a reason a lot of people no longer buy Colts. |

I’m pretty sure it was Colt… the gun was wrapped up how I’d expect it to be, with a coat of oil. Anyways, I bought from Brownells and shot them an email to see if they have a contact with them. I don’t want them to make it right, but figured they might be able to get someone on the phone… maybe. But did some digging and found that KenSight does that adjustable rear. Took the gun to work, backed out the screw and measured it. Came out to these measurements… Right Screw for GCNM Ordered 3. The scratch, which is visable best in the second picture, is just going to be what it is. If I get ahold of Colt… maybe I’ll see if they can refinish the slide, but with what I’ve heard, probably will just live with it. |

I've owned Colt regular production pistols that were okay. I've had good experience with all my Colt pistols from their custom shop. I had a Talo Wiley Clapp special edition that shipped with the wrong barrel. After sending the 2nd barrel replacement they got it right. Should I buy another Colt pistol, it will only be from the CCS. |
