@JohnnyA where did you get that rifle? I’d love to get one like that. I’ve got an old 6933 upper to put on an SBR’ed bullet lower.

Your rifle looks great.
Mine came with Magpul rail covers. There are two tabs that have to be pried up to slide them apart, but be careful as I pried one up too far and broke the tab off. There’s a video on YouTube. |

Mine came with the half-moon carrier, is there any issue with using a M16 style full auto bolt? I don't see no issues as the hammer looks just like any other Colt.

I do not know if that includes roll marking. |

Of course, kings has reduced the price of the m4le trade ins to $999…

When did Colt start/stop using the "SEMI" selector on the lowers? I have only seen this on the Double Bullet LE models.
|
|
|
They also used SEMI on the early COLTS LAW ENFORCEMENT CARBINE. The one I have with SEMI is just under the 12K serial number mark, which probably puts it in the early ‘00s production period.

Anyone know of a website selling the "Lower Double Bullet" markings? And not Gunbroker.

Great price. Thanks for the link. What agency did these come from?

oh man... I don't need another 6920, but at that price its hard for me to say no.
I got one of the police trade-in Colt Canada / Diemaco 6920s and have been shooting it lately. While all my Colt barrels have really been fantastic, the police trade in Colt Canada rifle has been an absolute laser. It showed up dirty, but has turned out to be a wonderful example of the 6920 rifle. That has the markings and configuration I like... will sleep on it and see.. |

Did anyone snag one of the SGB - Summit Gun Broker - police trade in AR15s? I see a handful have sold, was wondering if anyone her has one in hand yet. Curious on condition, first impressions, etc.

I have a Canadian Colt upper and lower but my barrel is not marked "CC". Why would they leave just the barrel out or does Colt not always mark those CC for the Canada ones?

Do the Safe/Semi lowers have the un-milled sear web area or is it open like a SP1 lower?
I found a ban era police trade-in AR6601 where the lower was milled like a SP1 without sear block. The new Colt lowers with the selector stops are a good start now mill them like a SP1. |

Both of mine have the web.

So I ordered one of the Summit Gunbroker Colt 6920 police trade in rifles. I really got it for no other reason than I thought it was a good deal, and I was really pleased with the Colt Canada / Diemaco 6920 police trade in I got from Gunprime a while back.
So, with Summit Gunbroker they have them listed for $849 - however, they also list these same trade-in rifles on a Gunbroker account. They must have gotten loads of these things from (Phoenix?) PD. On Gunbroker, I was able to lock in a winning bid that was lower than the Summit list price from their own website - be aware though, Gunbroker has a lot of fees! Almost $60 in taxes and fees on top of my bid, then shipping. I came out a tad cheaper by bidding instead of buying direct, but it was just a little over $50 I saved. So not bad, but I saw some of their listings bid up higher than their website. So be mindful of that, I think it's possible to pay more if you aren't careful. Anyhow, the rifle looks great. Has minor handling marks and scrapes on the receiver, many of which wiped away with CLP. I knew the condition of the specific rifle I got, due to bidding on a listing instead of 'ordering from the pile' so to speak from Summit's website. I doubt it really matters though - there are police trade ins, and you should expect handling marks. The barrel looks great, handguards, stock and carry-handle sight are all in VG condition. I did swap out the stock with another old Colt vinyl acetate aluminum one I had laying around, and will put some skinny handguards on it once I dig them out. So one thing I've noticed with my now 2 police trade in carbines - the triggers are really nice. I had an extra Geissele SSA-E I was planning on putting on it, but honestly this has a very crisp and clean mil spec trigger. Has anyone else noticed this? I am wondering if they are 'worn in', maybe smoothed out with use. I have had some pretty rough Colt and LMT milspec triggers from new rifles that I usually swap for a Geissele, but these two trade-in 6920s have very clean mil spec triggers. I am just going to leave them be I think. Curious if this might be common. I am not saying its as clean and crisp as the Geissele.... but in truth its kinda close (granted these are also single stage). |
