Do they stay on pretty well?
|
|
|
oh yeah, you have to pry them off with a dillo foot like opening a pop bottle, you cant take them off with your fingers without tearing your nail off
but they pop on easy, you get enough to completely cover a carbine rail and then some extra to route wires on tape switches or whatever. now they have them in 5 differnt colors |

These really are the best way to go with the 6940 rail IMO. |

Now that I have my 6940 from HK Specialists, it is time to play with stuff. The trigger is pretty heavy, so I got a Geiselle from Midway on sale and it has the small pins. Then I saw in the Geiselle website that Colt uses large pins. Some guys on ARF say Colt has gone to small pins.
So, is is going to fit the 6940 or not? |
|
|
All 6940s are small pin. It will fit.

Thanks, now I can get to work!

I was hoping Colt would/will offer this with an 11.5" barrel. Not sure if the 10.0" will work with many suppressors?
Cheers |

I'm just hopping I can eventually buy a 14.5" barrel with pinned Front Sight. I really want to chop my 6940 down or replace with a 14.5", but with no replacement barrels anywhere in sight I'm reluctant to do so

Now that Brownells is selling a barrel nut wrench for the 6940 has anyone confirmed that a standard barrel swap can't be done

You need a 6940 barrel extension in order to install the barrel. |

They did a nice job with the 6940. I would love to see an "A4" version of the 6940. Monolithic upper with 12" rail, free floated 20" government (or medium) profile barrel, fixed A2 stock. I doubt Colt would have enough interest to build it, but I would clear something out of the safe to buy one. |

Any links or additional info would be greatly appreciated. I'll cross my fingers the rifle (or at least the upper receiver) makes it into production. Thanks. |

nitmr26,
I've been using the ladder rail covers on my 6940, but I might change over to something else. What are those covers on the side and bottom? Are you happy with them? Thanks! |

There is no doubt that they offer more protection for the rails, but they make the rail feel wider then with just the ladder rail covers alone. The 6940 rail with the Troy covers feels a touch wider than a KAC M4/M5 with KAC covers. I have large hands, so it doesn't bother me. The Troy covers seem securely locked in place, but I haven't had a chance to shoot the rifle since I installed them. The set of 3 cost me $17. |

Thanks for the info!
I have small hands (I've come to terms with that ), but I tend to like large-ish grips so I might just give those a try. Thanks again, Brian |
