Congrats on your victory for all of us. Now a couple of questions. 1) Will former and future customers that purchased ar PISTOLS from you, are we included in the win? 2) So now that SBR's are not regulated Federally, will I now be able to remove the braces and put on say a Magpul M4 type stocks. I have several pistols that I can do this to. My state has no restrictions other than the federal ones. |

The maker identification requirement at 26 U.S.C. 5842(a) and 27 C.F.R. 479.102 was not enjoined as to anyone. Under the ordinary Form 1 process, a person making an SBR must add their own markings even to a receiver that already carries a manufacturer's serial number. Whether and how that requirement applies when a covered GOA member reconfigures an already-serialized PSA firearm has not been addressed by the Court or by ATF. We cannot tell you the answer, and we are not going to guess. Ask an attorney about this specific point before you reconfigure. |
