 That's a nice lower price. I got mine last year in April 2022 for $1,040, then a few months later it went up to around $1,199.  After several months I modified mine to my preferred components and accessories. Changed the Centurion basic OEM handguard to a standard Centurion with more ventilation holes and QD sling mounts. Scalarworks fixed front sight KAC micro 200-600M rear BUIS Magpul M-LOK rail panels & angled foregrip Geissele charging handle (now changed to Raptor CH) Geissele Super 3 gun trigger (I tested mine got 2.5 lb pull) Colt ambi selector with short right lever (from Brownells separate left and right lever) Crane Ind bolt extractor O-ring B5 Systems grip & Bravo SOPMOD furniture Blue Force Gear Vickers 2 point sling Magpul gen 3 PMAG with windows Sig Sauer Tango-MSR 1-6X24 LPVO (affordable) Warne 1.9" high mount

FYI Brownells has "stripped" upper assemblies (missing BCG and charging handle) for %15 off, I think it comes out to $476 or so with the coupon applied (before tax and shipping) - don't know how long the coupon/deal will last though. I just got mine delivered today - had to rebuild a lower to better use it (swapped in a Larue trigger, etc). I need to bore-scope it; the gas block might be a tiny bit off center...either that or the handguard is  The bolt carrier seems to go in and out without any issues, but it's late and I might be rushing things. I'll examine it more closely when there's better light outside tomorrow. In the mean time since I don't have any optics laying around, I put on a set of backup irons and I'll hopefully hit the range with it over the weekend and see how it cycles, and if I need to use a carbine buffer, or an H, or if I need to build another H2. I'm expecting a standard carbine buffer should be ok. Might need to step up to an H if I put a can on it though..Edit - handguard was slightly twisted; I loosened it up, put a scope mount bridging the handguard and upper to force-center it, tightened it back down and shined a light down the tube from the front - the tiny bit of twist was enough to make it look centered, and dropping a bolt carrier by itself down onto the gas tube, no binding or rubbing...smooth in, smooth out with no hitches. Seems good to go, just an optical thing

Put an H buffer in mine and got it to the range today - for a BCG I went with one of the Israeli surplus GI ones AIM was blowing out for like $70 a few months ago; C158, MPI, blah blah blah - phosphated and brand new so it was a bit scratchy. Cleaned/lubed it, replaced the extractor spring/buffer with a BCM enhanced one with the o-ring and all that, etc. The factory teal? a weird color of blue - spring buffer and spring were saved, but swapped out. Put a temp scope on it and wound up going through 150 rounds of M855 at the range. No problems. One of the things I wanted to do was burn off all the factory oil and other stuff on it, so got it decently warm. I noticed they put some kind of anti-sieze on the barrel nut now...it leaked out a little bit It pooped the brass out all in the same spot which was nice. It seems adequately gassed as there was a good bit of brass swipes on the deflector bump. Anyway - happy with it - need to figure out irons (if any), optic, light, and some other stuff...finally a non-NFA carbine for me that has rails, and doesn't look like it came out of the 1970s

Comments on the upper and the complete rifle (these are take offs from complete rifles) seem to indicate generic uppers. BGCs may be etched “C” but you really have to look for it. For $500, it’s still a deal for the Colt middy barrel setup with the Centurion rail. A week ago, the upper sans charging handle and BGC was $450. |
