Yes. I’ve done it before. The whole buffer and weight thing is tricky in my opinion and CAN be tuned to run 55gr stuff suppressed all day. There’s a few good combos out there and just use a bigger spacer. You don’t have to buy the fancy ones. Throwing quarters down the buffer tube and then having the sealing disc it came with works. Using a MG42 spring and clipping the standard 2 works. ]Lubing the links a little helps. If you’re looking to strip links I’d say upgrade to a MG42 and add quarters until the BCG will pick a round up reliably. If you’re looking for rate of fire, swapping buffers will do fine. A nice thing bout running an A5 is that you can play with hydronic buffers. |
