Anyone have experience with them? I've used only Colt's for years, but I'm wondering how BCM's compare? I normally wouldn't consider buying anything but Colt's, but their castle nuts are out of stock everywhere and I need to get a few before the WA AWB is signed by King Inslee. My guess is that they would probably be the exact same parts as Colt's, but I have been wrong before assuming that on other items. Edit: March-22nd Bought 5 to check them out, I might buy more if they are comparable to Colt's. I'm surprised that no one in the Bravo Company forum has had any experience with them. |

I tried to take some pictures but the lighting wasn't working out in favor of seeing anything detail oriented, not that there was much to see. If you have seen a current Colt castle nut you have seen the same castle nut as what Bravo Company is currently shipping. I'm happy and I will be buying some more. |

At least as of when I bought mine, the Bravo Company castle nuts are the exact same ones that Colt currently uses and the end plates are at least of similar quality to Colt's from a visual inspection. |

The castle nuts started deforming in the wrench slots at about 25 ft/lb using the BCM wrench and Snap On torque wrench I've used on dozens of telestock installs and the end plates were a very sloppy fit in the BCM RE's slots. Not to mention of the 3 BCM REs, one was way out of spec and would actually have a significant portion of its threads project into the lower when installed (tired on multiple lowers to eliminate possibility of an out of spec lower). I've never had that issue with a Colt castle nut but to be fair I've only installed 2 and the Colt end plates are much more refined looking and fit almost perfect in RE slots. For REs I use LMT when I can get them, I like the lipped ones POF too, usually install them with Vltor castle nuts and end plates but Damage Industries hasn't disappointed yet either. |

And that's why I'm always hesitant to buy outside of the Colt brand... I think I may have lucked out after hearing your experience. |

Or maybe they've improved over the years haha. That is certainly a possibility. I just hope they are consistent in outsourcing from whoever it is that is putting out the good quality parts. |

I’d buy practically any part over anything from Colt now … Colt sucks anymore … in the AR world … they used to be solid … if you can get old Colt parts. Good. But they don’t scream top tier as they once were. BCM over Colt. Any day. |

But they don’t scream top tier as they once were. BCM over Colt. Any day. I will have to agree to disagree on that. I have been buying, installing and using Colt parts for at least 14 years and I also buy old stock Colt parts from Specialized Armament on occasion. So I have noted some differences in their parts over the years. The last two or three years have been a little frustrating on some of their lower parts for lack of consistency, as CZ seems to be having Colt bring in more subcontracted parts and finishes to substitute for phosphate than used to be the case. But otherwise the current production parts are still good quality if not the exact same as they were back in 2009. I put in enough test orders to other manufacturers to check their quality and to see if they have any consistency in their parts and I've been burned more often than not. In my experience, Colt is still better in the consistency and quality of their parts. I feel got lucky on the current BCM castle nuts because they are indeed the same part as Colt uses/sells. The BCM end plates are a bit different, but they seem to be a good quality substitute. BCM buffers are all over the map, but they seem to be good quality. They just have no consistency in where they are sourcing them from. |
