So... I have about six T1 micros on various guns.. And two months ago I wanted to put a T1 from one of my Aks to my styer aug..so I went to pull my LaRue mount off and install a different mount that would fit my aug.. When I went to tightened the new mount on I got all cowboy and snugged the shit outta it and stripped the bolt screws!! You think being a mechanic I would have not been so stupid! But alas my brothers I buggered the crap outta this t1...
So needless to say after stomping around and cursing enough to make a sailor blush.. I figured I just screwed myself and just lit $700 bucks on fire... So...I did what any man who just &$@$ up does.. I drank a bunch of beer ..and kissed my wife to sleep just steaming on how stupid I was... So next day I decided I would call aimpoint..tell them how stupid I was..and see if I could drill and heli coil my mistake away.. I called aimpoint and told them my hole story..explained that it was completely my fault and understood if their was nothing they could do.. After about a twenty min talk and few laughs with customer support .. The explained that they wanted to see it and see what they could do... And let me say.. This T1 was by no means pretty it was spray painted.. Scuffed up and scratched... It has been on my truck and mountain ak for three years... I figured they wouldn't be able to help me.. But mailed it off.. I waited ..and 5 weeks went by..I never called ..more because I was scared what they would say... And the valentines day comes... I get home from work and this little box is sitting by the door? I was thinking it was another of my wife's amazon boxes that never seem to quit gracing our door.. I pic it up and it says aimpoint...I was excited and nervous to see what came of my little T1... So I open the box... And their laying inside is a brand new t1 micro.. I about crapped my pants... Not only does this company's product stand up to miles and miles of dirt and mud hiking.. Falling down a ridge with my pack with a near death rock climbing mistake.. And also have a killer battery life...but this company also stands by their product.. They are more the generous to their customers even when they are completely retarded... I called and talked to my buddy in SF and he just laughed and said @&$& ya aimpoint they rock... What a amazing company! I have many many more guns waiting for optics and I will say I will only by aimpoint!! thank you guys for such a amazing product! thank you for supporting our men and woman down range..and also helping me protect my girls and our home...I truly love you guys... Anyone on the fence on what optic to buy.......their is only one.......AIMPOINT! |

Interesting. Glad to hear they helped you. I needed a replacement battery cap for my T-1 which had a loose battery cover. I even contacted them saying I would buy a replacement if necessary. Emailed them and they said I couldn't get one through them. Had to order one from another vendor and wait for them to order it from Aimpoint. Kinda bummed that they wouldn't help me out but... I guess it's hit or miss depending on who you get a hold of. Doesn't really deter me, I still run 5 different Aimpoints and will continue to do so.
But like I said, I'm glad to hear they went above and beyond to help you! |
