You can do that already, provided your receiver does not have selector stops, or if they're milled off

Isn't it backwards though?  

I'd considered mounting the levers backwards like in the photos - but that would be the opposite from a 1911 - up for fire, down for safe.  I'm looking for one that goes up for safe, and down for fire just like a 1911 thumb safety.  It would kind of defeat the "commonality" between the two platforms.  

Would probably just be a novelty, but it would be cool nonetheless!

We don't dare changing the manual of arms that much.  Safe has the lever parallel to the bore so when the rifle is dragged on the dirt and grass, it won't rotate itself to Fire/Semi, that was one of the earliest changes to the AR design, and I think it's a good one.

Doing it the 1911 way also carries a hefty liability issue.  With the current 45/90 degree compatible receiver, only one position is changed, and the part that is changed (Fire) is not all that different from the legacy design, it's just shorter throw.  The 1911 way would reverse Safe and Fire so it's just the opposite of what everyone is used to, we'd be criticized like crazy

And that's not counting the SBR ARFCOM billet lower that is awaiting return of a form 4 as it sits at my dealer.  



That'll be TWO 45* set up lowers in my possession when the paperwork clears.

Yes and used Brownells Alumahyde II in OD Green and added a MICHIGUNS Eotech adjustment sticker after.  Matches the other OD Green stuff pretty good.

I'm gonna do that, mine looks like crap, as I didn't remove the hood but painted everything together, I used masking tape to block out the controls

I thought about just masking it off, but I had to remove the hood to install the GG&G lens covers anyway.  I was quite happy how it turned out.  Now, who knows how durable it will be, time will tell

I assume the top portion of the rail at the barrel end pops up as a front iron? IDK enough about KAC rails... but it is an assumption given the rear iron sight....

Otherwise a solid rig!

Yep the front sight is integrated  KAC now has a version of upper that incorporates a built-in rear sight too.  Personally I like mine to be removable, built-in sights save weight but you'd better like them because you're kind of stuck with them
