Is that normal and just part of the design? Yes it is.
Are you being too nitpicky? Eh not necessarily. If it bothers you then go for an optic with a large fov that uses a design other than a small enclosed tube red dot with internal emitter. Something like an eotech or cmore. The design of the t1 and t2 necessitate the front lens to be angeled toward the emitter to reflect the dot to your squishy sight ball. The t1 and lots of other smaller tube red dots actually have the emitter cutting into the fov. It's a trade off you make when going to a micro tube red dot. They actually did better on the t2 by getting the diode out of the way. Since rds's are meant to be used with both eyes open its only critical that you see a dot and fov isn't as important as it is on a magnified optic. Hell the first "occulated" red dot sights didn't even have a field of view, just a black tube with a red dot in it. |
