Friends and fellow Aimpoint efficianados!
I recently picked up an Aimpoint "Comp" site from a DRMO sale. In addition I picked up an Aimpoint 5000 1X that looks to be a "newer" model than the Comp. I have not been able to find any specific info on the "Comp" models only the "Comp C". My biggest concern is while the 5000 works great, great glass. The Comp Model does not. The glass is clear and in great shape. Using a 1/3N Lith. Battery in the 5000 is fine but the 1/3N seems to be short in the "Comp" Model? When the battery is installed in the Site, I can hear the battery slide back and forth when I shake the site. It is definately too short. Did these early Comp series use a different battery? Pictured below, I cannot seem to get a clear photo of the Battery compartment. But it is clear and clean and there does not appear to be any corrosion on the contacts. Any suggestions?
