I bought two of the CMMG conversion kits. These are the newest generation with the new mags and stronger springs in the mags. Both are exactly the same. Took them to the range today to test them out and one of them was working perfectly; zero issues. The other one was having all kinds of extraction problems as well as FTF issues. So I swapped the kits in the AR's, swapped mags and the issues followed the kit (BCG). So, I started swapping parts, beginning with the chamber adapter. Turns out that the chamber adapter on one of the kits is too tight - the .22LR round won't fully seat in the chamber adapter. It will go in about 3/4 and then stop. I can force it in, but then getting it out is very difficult - even using a knife. I used a .22LR brass cleaning brush with drill to "buzz" clean it like CMMG suggests, but it's still way too tight. The other chamber adapter works well. The round literally drops into the chamber and fully seats. If I turn the chamber adapter upside down, the cartridge will even fall out. So did I just get a bad chamber adapter? |
