Finally have a tOBR lite. While I plan to order a longer barrel from LT, I'm really wanting to put together a 10.5"-12" barrel cartridge. I have a super short handguard on the way, and have a DD 11.5" barrel on hand. Other than needing a tOBR barrel nut, is there anything stopping me from using a different manufacturer's barrel in a 5.56 tOBR? I'm assuming LT didn't use some proprietary extension or anything (Google AI says they do, I find that hard to believe they'd use different extensions for tOBR vs Stealth, tAR, etc.). I'm also hunting for a 12" Stealth or tAR barrel to use for this project, but again already have the DD I can toss in. Any input is appreciated. |

It varies. Some are a little tight so you have to heat the receiver to get them to fit. Others fit with no trouble. Probably the only other thing is that the LaRue receivers are not M4 Cut. They work okay with m4 cut extensions. If you have trouble you can always add them to the receiver, it isn't that hard. This is just based off my experience with their stealth, tAR, and tOBR receivers. I believe the OBR are the same as well. |
The 2nd is not about hunting, it never was. It was put in place for one reason and one reason only. You can't have them, we won't give them up, so get over it.

I wish they offered a 12" tOBR sparrel cartridge. Maybe I'll order a 12" Stealth, if they ever come back in stock. |

It seems like they’ve regressed to running what remains of their catalog on a small-batch drop model - make a limited run, sell out, and then leave it unavailable for months. I was looking at a backordered 16" 5.56 Match Grade Upper at Optics Planet yesterday with an estimated ship date of January 2027.  Unfortunately, customers who can’t buy what they want will eventually move on to something else. |

Will report back once my parts arrive. ETA: the more I read on Armalite vs DPMS with the AR10/SR25 platform, the more confused I am. LOL. Looks like checking headspace is the best practice. I know I started this thread asking about the 5.56 LT-15/PredatOBR platform, but having info on both here doesn't hurt. |
