300 Blackout Upper (Page 4 of 4)
+1. At this point Mark's generosity has provided multiple 556 Sparrel options for my current tOBR upper. I would really appreciate another tOBR upper to accommodate my growing number of 300 BLK barrels ( including the much anticipated 1st qtr BuildAR 12.5" barrel). Shorter tOBR rail would also be nice. Don't want to go through the angst of chopping down another one.

Just received my LT-104 and decided with the nice break in the weather today that I would dial in my Leupold for deer season and take care of some 'yotes I have blowing up my trail cams. This is a UHFO Larue .300blk out upper with a 16" barrel and a TranQuilo muzzle brake.
I used PNW Range 147gr to start and then moved onto using the Barnes TSX 110gr that I'm hunting with. After a four shot TSX group I then dialed accordingly and I put one more round on the dirty side. I moved to the clean side of Mark's supplied target for the last three shot group. I'd say that barrel likes the factory Barnes 110gr TSX pretty well. I don't have On Target because I'm running a Mac computer, but it appears as if this rifle can group pretty darn well. | Very nice !! I have had similar results with the Barnes Vortex Tx Tac, , as well as with BH. Whisper supersonics. That's using a 10" non LaRue barrel. Hopefully the groups will tighten up even a bit more once the 1st quarter BuildAR 300 BLK 12" is available. |

Got so tired of waiting for a 300 BO upper or barrel to buy, I ordered a PredatOBR in 7.62 x 51 to tide me over....
Expected a 2 to 4 month wait. Ordered on Saturday, shipped on Monday, at my local LGS on Friday. I'm impressed with the service and speed of fulfillment. Contemplating a day off from work to go break this rifle in.... |

I installed my Larue 16" 300 blackout barrel that I purchased from EE into my PredatAR. It operated flawlessly with the standard Larue low profile gas block but the gas in the face was very noticeable when shooting suppressed (indoors). Swapping in a Radian Raptor charging handle helped significantly.
Now to get the lower engraved and file the Form 1.... |

From all the years I've been buying and using LaRue gear, the worst and only negative thing I can come up with about LaRue, is the wait time till a Product starts shipping regularly... Stuff like new caliber barrels, New Uppers and Lowers... Some stuff I've been waiting years for and have no idea (other than 2 weeks) when its going to be available..
However, Once the minions and machines are churning them out pretty good and they have a stock of them, its not usual for them to go out within minutes or hitting the Submit button or hanging up the phone... |

Hey for those of you who have a LaRue 300 Blackout barrel - anyone's have issues with the threading?
I just finished my BuildAR Stealth 2.0 last night (form 1 lower came back from engraver this week) The barrel threads seem a bit long/deep for the muzzle device I was planning to use (or the muzzle devices threads are too "shallow") - it's a griffin 30SD QD mount (came with my 30SD suppressor). There's too much space to use the shims. I'm thinking I'll either. Need to use my minimalist taper mount brake or send it to a gunsmith. I've waited so long for this tho between the BuildAR project and form 1/engraving I really don't want to have to wait again!! Here's a pic of what I mean:

Hi,
I'm planning to import a 300BO upper, but its impossible to do that with a barrel size under 16" because of ITAR restrictions. 
So I need to know which gas system is installed on theses barrels? Carbine or pistol? If it's a pistol length even on 16" it's possible for me to cut it here in France. Thanks for your help. |

Larue has become the largest vaporware maker in the industry.
After years of waiting I have given up on many products. Mark's definition of "soon" is 5 years or more. Thankfully the rest of the industry (even within a 50 mile radius of Larue) are producing great things. I am rather confident Mark will not reply to this and if he does he will have a excuse for not making things in 300. Again I still love Larue but as time goes by that love fades. |

Is anyone running their 300 suppressed? I’m curious what your spring/buffer recipe is. I recently added a SF Warcomp and SF 300 can to my 12” LT UU gun. I’ve tried carbine, H, H2 buffers and am still unable to get the gun to run with a standard carbine spring. I’m guessing the gas port size is the issue. ETA: shooting subsonic factory Hornady w/ 208gr Amax |

I have had minimal success running subsonics with my 12" UU kit. It is an early model from when they offered the free assembly. I apologize for the vague data, I haven't been able to do more testing with this upper for a couple of years. It will not run any of the Prime brand 220 gr rounds suppressed or unsuppressed, it was cycling some hornady subs I had and some S&B subs both unsuppressed and suppressed with the tranquilo and an AAC 762. (all of which cycled in my 8.5" PSA upper both suppressed and unsuppressed Probable wildly overgassed per PSA SOP) I called to inquire about the issues and was told they don't recommend subsonic loads. I felt that was silly for a 300blk. I have some loads I worked up to try and get it to cycle subs, I might end up enlarging the gas port. |

UPDATE! I drilled out my gas port one size up, it was a#46 (0.081") I drilled it out to a #45 (0.086") she runs subsonics unsuppressed great. I fire a ton of the rounds I had that previously wouldn't cycle (prime ammo) cycled beautifully. Threw together a magazing full of 3-4 each random brands of subs and had zero malfunctions. |

Over the past few years, I have chased AAC parts to build a "300 AAC Blackout PDW" rifle as it came from the factory. These are no longer manufactured as the original AAC company was sold to Remington I believe. This rifle is identical to the factory assembled unit. Upper and lower receivers, and bolt carrier carry the AAC logo, and 300BLK marked as the caliber on the lower. The serial is like xxxxxxxPDW. The story on the suppressor. well I must have been in the right place at the right time to find that suppressor. It's a AAC-762-SDN-6. This suppressor was designed for the 300BLK round with a 9 inch barrel. Anyway, I'll just leave a few pics here so you 300BLK fans can drool over them. I have all the documentation and I'll be happy to share, just drop me an email. Oh, one more thing. I completed the AFT form electronically on a Friday late afternoon. Monday was a holiday. Lo and behold I received an email from those kind folks on Tuesday after the holiday. Basically a one day turnaround. I waited 18 months on my first suppressor purchase. I took "advantage" of the tax free pistol brace and it's now a two stamp rifle. The pictures don't reflect how small this rifle is. The suppressor hanging off the muzzle makes it look long.
