I have an older 22/45 with a 5.5" target barrel that I'd like to have cut down a bit, threaded and front sight reinstalled. Is that something you would do? I only see rifle barrel work listed on your site. Thanks |
| We can, but legal shipping of a handgun is STUPID expensive so we stopped advertising it to non locals. We charge $140 for the service but your shipping costs will be over $100. |

I don't know if the OP will come back here, but maybe it will help someone else. I talked with my local FFLs. I found a pawn shop that will ship a handgun for me via their USPS account. They charge me about $50ish. It's basically their transfer fee plus their actual USPS shipping. So it doesn't hurt to do some legwork and ask around. |

I thought the DOJ is changing the USPS rules for shipping guns. Now you can use USPS, so probably pretty cheap. Just happened in last week. Not sure when effective date is. bonus, I had my 22/45 ported and an integral suppressor added to the end. I think it may have been shortened somewhat too. Those mods make regular supersonic 22LR shoot at subsonic speeds, so basically all ammo out of that gun are whisper quiet (and no first round pop). It is essentially like the special ops Amphibian 22LR used to take out sentries and dogs. Mine was done by a fellow in Oklahoma, S&H Arms, but I'm not sure if he's retired by now. Top of the line craftsman as you can't see the seam where the new piece of metal begins. Can disassemble for cleaning like all 22LR suppressors. Of course threading and a regular suppressor is more versatile since you can use the suppressor on other guns too. |
