Looking for ideas on what grain bullet & powder load for my non 5r barrel. Its 16” 1/10 twist. A freind hand loads some amazing loads for his 6.5c but doesn’t load 308.
I want a bullet for deer, not just paper punching. TIA! |

Start by getting a reputable, published reloading manual. Never take loads straight off the internet w/o first cross referencing in the manual.
Having said that, Are you loading on a progressive or single stage press? Do want powder that meters well? Is temperature sensitivity a concern? Etc. I personally like TAC and Varget powders because they are not temp sensitive. TAC meters like water, so that’s my go to. |
