So finally shot my 6.5G UU build. First three shots at 100 yards were a little right. I adjusted and then shot the three in the center. I’m sold!

I got my 6.5 grendel uu kit together and went to the range today. I had loads worked up with CFE223, Benchmark, and Winchester 748. I also had 2 boxes of Hornady Black. I ran 95 rounds through the gun today with no malfunctions. I shot a box of the Hornady Black to line up the scope and give the barrel a little break in. I then started go through the load work ups with 25 rounds for each powder. Here is a picture of the last 5 shot group at 100 yards of the day. Attached File 28 grains Win 748, 123 Hornady BTHP, virgin Hornady brass, CCI 400 primers, loaded to 2.26" I believe I got a shooter and had to brag a little bit even though it didn't come with a test target. The one shot off by itself was the last shot. I got a little nervous. He is a pic of the finished rifle. Attached File |

I thought I might have topped ML this evening with my 5.56 tOBR, but still came up short after stacking them. Pulled last shot of first group, then stacked 2nd and 3rd, blew 4th one. Best set was .148 MOA…. Proof group that came with the rifle was .075 … My groups  ML Proof Group

My FDE heavy was shot by someone else and came in around .6XX, I’ve stacked up someone hand loads with 168gr ELD-Ms to around .4XX, but the tOBR grouping definitely has me playing with different powder charges. I’ve got some 70gr Berger Hybrids that I haven’t loaded yet that I’ll try next, all in though, the gun is a tac driver. Initially I planned to just run an 1-3.5 ACOG but have gone to an Eotech Vudu 5-25 tremor since they are consistently stacking on each other. |
