Guys, I know everyone is excited about this rifle. Trust me, I am too! But the last thing we want to do is announce a release date and miss it due to unforeseeable circumstances. We'd rather wait until we have them built and ready to ship before we make that announcement. We certainly don't want to over promise and under deliver. S/F Joe Get it right Joe, I'd love to see the .308 built reliable both suppressed and unsuppressed along with outstanding accuracy with match ammo. We've seen KAC, LARue & LMT .308s all have some reliability issues somewhere along the line, so i for one will patiently wait. |
I understand and appreciate your commitment to making it right instead of rushing it to market. I wasn't necessarily wanting a release date, just any info you may be able to release, barrel specs, receiver pattern, handguard options...whatever. Just fishing for anything, patience isn't one of my best virtues but I am patiently waiting. I have 2 M4 V11's and they are my favorite guns, if you guys didn't make such a great product maybe there wouldn't be so much excitement...

For right now, the only information that we're comfortable releasing is in the 2015 Book of the AR15 Daniel Defense Edition which hit news shelves late December 2014. I seriously doubt they are still on the shelves, but if you'd send us an email through our website, I'm sure we could send one out to you. |

(Not directed at you LanceCriminal) I find it funny how people complain about COST, but then complain about parts not matching up with perfection. Quality costs resources. Resources cost money. Quality saves time. Time is priceless. Figure out how much your personal time is worth, then decide if you can afford to tinker with your time chasing reliable function & chasing an acceptable group or spend your time putting rounds on target. Time is the only resource we have limited amounts of, and NO WAY of making a deposit when it runs out. "I wish I had spent more time tinkering with my rifle to get it to run & group reliably..." Live Well.

~Will That's the point of building. YOU do the tinkering, YOU find what works, YOU build the rifle. Tinkering, trial and error, it all comes with it. The AR15 was the same way not all that long ago. Besides that, the recipe for a solid, reliable, swing machine like 308 is already out there. The problem, like you said, is people buying cheap shit and expecting to notch performance. Any large frame 308 receiver, with a quality bcg either Armalite AR10, or a HIGH QUALITY dpms style bcg, armalite length gas tubes for rifle or mid length carbine, and Armalite length buffer tube for carbines, or Vltor A5 tube, with Armalite operating spring and H3 buffer. Or whatever Slash offers. This recipe equals reliability. Why this is so hard for people to get, is beyond me. I really hope DD didn't simply make another dpms clone. I hope they went with a quality system like KAC/LMT/AR10/OBR. Why anyone would choose to copy dpms over better designs makes no sense to me. But, there's alot of things going on in this world that makes no sense to me. |

Mr Marler, a couple of questions about parts commonality of this rifle.
Buffer tube is mil spec I imagine, but it is longer in length at all? Standard buffer or proprietary? And replacing the grip, will the Magpul MIAD 7.62 grip work on this? What magazine will ship with this when it is released? Thank you. |

I've been called a lot worst by better people. LOL
Really didn't have much time with it but it's a DD built rifle so it's very high quality. It was one of the prototypes and first time ever on display. For an AR10 it felt great weight wise. I don't see any issues carrying it around on an all day hunt. I've only held one other AR10 and it was extremely heavy. Fit & Finish again was DD quality. I don't recall the overall barrel length. Biggest thing I remember was the keymod rail. Love it! Lastly, I've been wanting an AR10 for some time and I'm happy I waited. I very much foresee this rifle along side my other Daniel rifles. |
