| Does anybody know how many of these were made in 2018.This weapon has u.s.govt property and m4a1 rolled mark lower receiver.Iam looking at getting one of these,they say a limited number were made. Thanks to all that reply. |

Here's mine that I picked up yesterday from my FFL. Looks quite nice, but (as has happened to other folks) I was shorted the vertical grip and short rail panel. Guess I'll be calling Colt on Monday. Notice, though, that they included seven of the larger rail panels. WTF?

Kudos to Colt Customer Service for getting my missing VFG and short rail panel out to me. Took a week from initial request. I never thought to take a look at what components were in my "kit bag" until this thread. I've purchased multiple M4A1's over the past year and each kit has the same kit # on it (and operator #). Not sure what those mean, as I've never opened the bags; however, each bag has different inventory in them. All bags have some KAC panels (some more than others), only one bag has a VFG, one bag has two magazines instead of one, one bag has a sling while the others don't. Would you mind sharing the colt number you used to get your parts recovered? I'd love go get complete rail panel kits and a VFG for each rifle. Thanks in advance. |

There were roughly 250 of the 2017 SOCOMS made. There have been many, many of the 2018 SOCOMs made and sold. They are still in production. I would not say many, though. I "know somebody who knows somebody in the know" and it is still a very small part of the production and sale of the LE6920 line, but it is continuing. While no longer rare, it is a small number being sent to distributors every month. Under 50 per month is what I am hearing. So, from June to December, that gives you around 300, maybe 500 tops so far. The 2017 line was a discrete number, like @Minuteman1636 mentioned. |

Didn't get an accessory pack if there was one for the older rifles, just a silent sling, matech rear, three of the full length ("11 rib") rail covers and magazine. Can't complain though, paid $950 with a red dot already mounted and only an estimated 100 rounds through the rifle. Removed the red dot, got the VFG, SOPMOD stock, vickers sling, Surefire scout and an ACOG. It is my #1 go to for all around duty. Groups with hand loads thus far are under 1.5" at 100 yds prone without bags or bipod with bulk Hornady 55gr SP projectiles. Color me impressed, this barrel can stack rounds. Will keep searching for heavier and more consistent loads (working on 69gr MatchKings) but that meets my criteria of darn good with bulk projectiles and no bags. For those who are collecting them, more power to you, but I truly feel these deserve to be used. Buy a spare barrel and go play with it, real issued ones are beat to hell and unless you throw it down the driveway you'll certainly be more kind to it than the men who are issued them. |

Just got this one in. No Colt markings on the upper. And the port side has the stickiness of a leftover sticker. Never really seen this from Colt. carrier was stamped C, so go figure. I will call Colt to have them send a replacement upper.

That’s piss poor on a $1400 gun. I’d read somewhere (probably here) they were having problems and/or resourcing issues with their anodizing sub-contractor. With the shit they’re turning out right now, it wouldn’t shock me if they’ve got some guy scanning gun.deals and just buying any cheap stripped upper that’s getting cleared out. How’s the lower? I went to a period from 2016-2017 where I spent a bunch of money on Colt rifles. I want another 20” for an M16A4 clone build. But I have no desire to touch what they’re turning out currently. | sooo.. poorly finished products are great ("thats just colt") but a missing c on an upper isnt, and is worthy of return? cant be a weapon of war without some stamping i guess. i can see a young, fresh faced shoulder getting issued a well worn m4, looking it over with a gleam in his eyes.. and then noticing the missing code. "give me another one!" he demands. "i cant depend on this rifle.. without a CAGE CODE!" |

Why would Colt have anything but Colt receivers? Poor QA is my only compliant. I am sure they will replace. |
