There is NO loophole. The Democrat politicians codified the ability for the state AG to sue firearm industry members when they passed the Firearm Industry Responsibility Act last year. That statute sets up a number of ways to sue the firearm industry into oblivion. Now Tong is just publicly announcing he wants free help to do so. Connecticut attorney general secures court order temporarily blocking USPS rule on mail voting A district court judge issued a court order Friday, temporarily blocking a rule by the United States Postal Service (USPS) that would have imposed “burdensome” requirements on vote-by-mail systems, Connecticut Attorney General William Tong (D) said. Tong and a coalition of 24 other states and the District of Columbia secured a temporary restraining order from the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, blocking a new rule that purports to grant USPS the authority to regulate mail voting in elections. The coalition argues that USPS’s rule would prevent states from effectively administering their mail voting programs, putting voters at risk of being disenfranchised, Connecticut’s attorney general said. It also believes the rule upends successful, longstanding vote-by-mail procedures and violates federal statutes and the Constitution. The temporary restraining order stops USPS from requiring states to obtain the federal government’s approval of ballot and return-envelope designs, register for a new USPS portal for tracking voter information, input information for each of their state’s voters into the portal, and comply with other provisions, Tong said. The court found that that the rule is unconstitutional, that compliance with the rule before midterm elections was “practically impossible,” and that these requirements created a “significant risk of disenfranchisement,” Tong said. The Friday court order comes ahead of midterm elections in 2026. “This last-minute attempt to use the USPS to manipulate and micromanage how we vote would have caused chaos and confusion, and court was right to stop it. We will continue fighting to protect voters and our democracy,” Tong said in a written statement.
