Former President Biden pardons drug sentence for Bridgeport convicted murderer A man involved in a high-profile murder in Bridgeport from the 1990s was among the hundreds of convicts granted clemency by former President Joe Biden. Adrian Peeler is set to be released from federal prison. If you were watching the news 25 years ago, you remember the Peeler brothers. In 1999, prosecutors said Russell Peeler was a drug dealer who shot and killed a rival and 8-year-old Leroy “BJ” Brown saw it happen. It was his mother’s boyfriend who was shot. Prosecutors believed Russell got his brother, Adrian, to break into their Bridgeport home and kill BJ Brown and his mother, Karen Clarke. Adrian Peeler was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder and sentenced to 25 years in state prison. He served that but then was supposed to remain in prison until 2033 on federal drug charges. The now-former president has commuted that sentence along with hundreds of others convicted of federal drug charges. Sen. Richard Blumenthal was Connecticut’s Attorney General in 1999. He released a statement saying: “It seems to me that someone dropped the ball here to let this person get released. This was a really vicious murder that changed our laws. It also highlights how we need to take a look at the pardon system to see how it can be improved.” Adrian Peeler had appealed his federal sentence before and failed. Federal prosecutors are now fighting this sentence reduction. |

I used to know a guy that testified against the brothers- he went to prison and was released. He was terrified then of being murdered by those two…. I’m sure he is terrified now that one is free. |

| Winning a legal case doesn't matter. What matters is the media soundbite that he's taking on Orange.Man.Bad. That's all the low information voters who only read or hears the news headlines will remember. Far too many gun owners who vote D buy into the narrative and headlines without digging deeper into the stories. People like Tong and Lamont know this. |

Bomb threat made against Attorney General William Tong’s Stamford home Connecticut Attorney General William Tong Friday says his family is safe after a bomb threat was made against his home in Stamford. “I want to thank the state and local police and first responders for their professionalism and hard work today in responding to this threat. I am grateful that my family is safe. I am going to continue to do my job fighting for and protecting Connecticut families,” Tong said in a statement. Stamford police said the FBI is investigating the incident. |
