My wife was called to jury duty today but was not selected. The case was apparently surrounding this dude and his arrest on 12/5/23 https://texas.arrests.org/Arrests/Michael_Young_57989251/ was curious to find out more about the states case and the facts surrounding the arrest, but my google-fu is weak. |

| Find the criminal court records website. It is public information. You can search for criminal cases filed and see the status online. Start at the county criminal court website and you should find a link to search cases in criminal and civil court. You will need to know the name of the defendant. The website you posted is informational only. |

I have a friends wife who works for the Dallas County DAs office. She processes paperwork prior to court dates. They have over 10,000 pending cases to process and are years behind from what she says. She’s one of 3 or 4 that process everything for the county. I have no idea where you can search records though, sorry. |

BNot sure how active cases are handled but there's always a way to see the public info. You may need to pay a few $$ for the longer documents. Dallas doesn't seem very cooperative for the moment, but I know I've done this in Collin. https://courtsportal.dallascounty.org/DALLASPROD/ I just had to pull up an official copy of my divorce/custody decree a few weeks ago (3 days later - my ex died and made it void). Anything with kids has to be requested. I think I had to pay $11 for an electronic copy. More if I wanted it certified. A lot of stuff without kids is completely open. -------- Another nugget. At the end of my first marriage, my ex was arrested for PI and ended up in a jail holding tank. Imagine walking up in the female cell with a few dozen other whores and meth addicts, realizing you have pissed yourself and everyone is laughing at you. Our car was towed in the process. So there has to be records somewhere. She hired a lawyer friend to get it expunged. When child custody became an issue and we had to go back to court, we brought it up and used it as a bargaining chip. My lawyer claimed he could not find an arrest record. That doesn't mean it didn't exist, but it was hidden well enough that he couldn't find it without more digging. She and her lawyer were worried enough about it that they dropped it and let me have what amounted to full custody. So depending on what happened, you may not immediately find a record. |
| Must be another SNAFU in the county records department. Usually if you know the offender name, their general age or even better the "bookin" number they are easy to look up using the links previously posted. I usually have a few people I like to keep tabs on with their criminal court journey and those links have always provided good information. |
