A bar at the beach used to make the most smooth flavorful margaritas. It closed suddenly. So, I am trying to replicate something very smooth and tasty at home without being overly sweet. There are dozens of recipes on the internet from basic tequila/lime juice/ triple sec, to wild concoctions. Do you have a recipe that is better than basic but not too complicated, or exotic, or radically different tasting? Please post it or a link to it.

PS: I already have a bottle of Cointreau and some basic triple sec. Tomorrow, I will pick up a bottle of Tequila Siete Leguas blanco or some similar all Agave, unadulterated tequila. I need to pick up some better lime juice or fresh limes too.
TIA

I started making quick margaritas for the pool out of Simply Limeade from the grocery store in the orange juice section.  That with some tequila and triple sec and you are good to go.  I tend to mix heavy on the tequila and lighter on the triple sec.  I prefer mine on ice and not slushy, but whatever floats your pool noodle.

I have seen a simple one with a can of frozen limeade concentrate.  Put the concentrate in a blender, fill the can with tequila and add, fill the can halfway with triple sec and add, then a handful or two of frozen strawberries.  Spin it up, and get in the pool.  I haven't tried it yet, but the ingredients are in the freezer right now.

Siete Leguas is overkill for a margarita, but it is delicious.

What beach and bar? I might be able to track down their recipe.

We use tequila, brandy, Cointreau, triple sec and sweet sour mix for our top shelf margaritas.

Place actually closed a few years ago. It was Salt Water Creek cafe on HWY 17 in Murrells Inlet.

What Tequila do you use or do you use Mezcal. I've seen rec's to use Mezcal. I haven't had Mezcal in a loong time.

The mezcal I've had has been a little more smoky which I didn't like in a margarita.
