I was there back in 87 I think where they put some jarheads for a dog and pony show for the 4th of July. It was a neat town. Decided to take the wife there, long flight. And it was as I was still walking the streets of Seattle. Why does the town not clean up the bums? Everywhere was posted no loitering but nothing was done. I did get to do a lot more in AK this time since I wasn't tethered to the USS Juneau this time. I'm not bashing it but dang, even all the tourons from all over the world seen. I'm sure they are telling everyone else then the tourism industry will take a hit. Heck, that kali POS is now cleaning up his place |

Its been bad for a long time. The tourist industry just keeps growing all the time with record years one after another. There is City run bum camps in the cold months at the Thane Warehouse and a City run campground downtown. They are all over with nothing done but support them. Covid seemed to be the best years ever, no tourists and the bums didn't seem as bad. The City should use an old ferry and house all of them offshore. Drop MREs once a month and offer jobs to those who want off. There are all kinds of jobs open in Juneau, just not high skilled or high paying. There are also quite a few good paying jobs, but skills or an education is required. Lots of new low income housing going up all over town. Just wonderful. |
