My son is wanting to go to this gun show and I think it would be a fun trip for him and I. My questions are where are some good places to look at staying? And also anything else to checkout while we are in town? And last, what are the places we need to eat at? I like checking out new places to try that aren’t your chain restaurants Thanks for any suggestions |

Bring your walking shoes. It's almost impossible to see every table there even if you attend both days. If you stay in Owasso (off Highway 169) you'll be within 15-20 minutes of the fair grounds where the show is held. Owasso has all your chain hotels and there are plenty of restaurants in the area as well. Hoping to go myself as I haven't been in a couple of years. It's an election year so might be crowded. Definitely one of those shows you need to see at least once. If you're looking for anything in particular it will probably be there. |

The Spudder is a local steakhouse run by descendants of the Phillips Petroleum clan and has some interesting decor. Jamil's is also a decent steakhouse. Oklahoma Joe's BBQ in Broken Arrow (by Cabella / Bass Pro) is good. Los Cabos in Owasso has reasonable mexican food. |

Been doing the Tulsa show since the 80s. It is truly something to behold. As has been said wear comfortable shoes and plan on it taking a lot longer than you think. According to the Wannamacher website if you are at show the entire time it's open both days you have 15.4 seconds per table if you want to see them all. We'll be at our normal location upstairs at 28E, come by and say hi. |
| Thank you guys for the information. Another maybe dumb question but is there any rhyme or reason to the show? Like are newer firearms in a certain area and older stuff in a certain area? Mainly on the lookout for a Remington 34 .22 rifle and a 16ga shotgun plus a larger caliber hunting rifle for my son. |

Tables are completely random. However if you go to the show regularly, many rent the same tables so you kind of get to know where certain dealers are. Also right below the upper level drop there is always some display, last year Ruger had a great display of Ruger guns. If you are looking for a particular gun you just walk the aisles scanning until you see something that looks interesting. I like milsurp, so I just walk and skip everything until I see wood and steel than pay a bit more attention. |
