He was playing games with vehicle licensing, but that does not change the fact that he was legally "car carrying" in Fibistain with a valid WI carry license, was cooperative with officers, and even voluntarily informed them of the loaded P365 in his vehicle and produced his WI ccw license, but was arrested and charged with a felony gun crime anyway. That's like saying "being pulled over and ticketed for speeding while legally carrying with a CCL, negates your CCL". If it was an OWI, his CCL is already invalidated by his intoxication, whether he's operating a vehicle or not. He was not driving recklessly, nor "fleeing and eluding". He was totally cooperative. He was not arrested for any other reason than a felony gun charge. The guy might be a clown, but that doesn't negate any of his rights, and create violations out of thin air that don't exist under the laws as written. Unless there's much more to this story than they're saying, the facts are these: he had a valid WI DL, valid WI CCL, and had a loaded handgun, not on his person, but in the vehicle. It doesn't say exactly where in the vehicle the gun was, just that he exited the vehicle when asked to, and did not have it on his person as he told the officers it was in the vehicle, and they retrieved it. These are facts as admitted to by the Cook County SD on their FB page. Nothing they described in their press release that he did was illegal, but they seem to infer that the gun having a round chambered was a bad thing, and a violation of Ill law. |

I wouldn't even get on an airplane if it will be flying over Hellinois, because it just might have to make an emergency landing there.  |

Left there in 1993 and haven't been back since 1998 for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Gary Other than a few trips to Wausau for my wife's cataract surgery at the eye clinic there, or going west to twin cities on Hwy 29 when my daughter was in school at U.of MN (2001-2007) and later lived in Farmington MN (she moved to the U.P. in 2021), and one trip down to the Almond area to open a friend's safe with bad e-lock, I haven't been south of the Hwy 64 area (Antigo/Merrill) this century. LOL... I've only been south of Hwy 8 three times in the past year (safe opening jobs in Tomahawk, Pelican Lake & Elcho).edit: I did make 2 trips to the Capitol in Madison in the mid 2000s, to attend CCW committee hearings (laws vetoed by Gov Asshat J. Doyle) and in support of the pro-CCW rallies there.  And one trip to fed court in Madison when I was suppoened before a fed grand jury as a witness in 1999.
