| I will not only be driving through the Northern AZ, NM, CO 4 corners area but stopping to visit some sites on the rez too. As I understand it each tribe is different on what their rules are. Would I be ok to have a firearm in a locked case in the trunk of my vehicle or do I not even dare risk that. |
| I would not recommend having weapons in the vehicle if you are not a tribal member, and are jumping from place to place on the rez. With that being said, driving through the rez on state highways, you are fine, just being in transit. But obey the law, don't do stupid stuff on the rez to bring the eye of sauraun upon you, and you should be fine whatever you decide to do. |

Spent a few years up by the Navajo reservation. Don't draw attention to yourself, in any way, and you'll be fine. Tribal police don't fuck around when it comes to guns, so be smart, blend in, and try to look as much like a tourist as you can. |

Having spent more time than I can remember on several different rez over the years the tribal police never even looked at me. But I did drive like an adult since I was in a company vehicle. I did have some close calls with drunk Indians that hang around the bars and liquor stores that border the rez. |

It was introduced again in 2025 and again not enacted. |
