| Anyways unfortunately I've been stuck in retail forever( including high up low corporate level, mostly upstate ny and vt), it finally drove me nuts. I thought good work etc lead to more than watching people half my age on cell phones all day and unperceptive of criticism. I suppose maybe because i grew up poor uneducated I'm fucked. Anyways anything good for self taught poors like me in the Barre area? Sorta tired of anything resembling corporate. Also im republican and maybe ocd,white. I guess the devil. also i'm not a fat slob and am in okay shape with non green hair. |

I’m not a native Vermonter so I don’t know which facilities are where, but I recently helped my neighbor’s son get a job with UVM hospital security. I think they are the same at all locations. He’s a bright kid working his way through college with no military or law enforcement experience and started out around $33 an hour plus shift differential. I thought that was fair considering one of the small town PDs offered a friend who was an experienced cop from NH a starting wage of $20 about seven years ago. Obviously he laughed and walked but it was an eye-opening lesson to me; I’m from MA where I made more than that as a new cop even 25 years ago. |
| I've actually thought about that one. All I've done is pretty much travel upstate ny and Vermont. My former job was busting me down to .15 cents a mile and I jumped that then covid happened. I hate to have to go back to traveling the state again but my skills are really tied to merchandising. I've been staying in one location and that just doesn't work for me. I can't run workers the way they are now and can't take drama so I cash my chips in as anything that resembles management again. |
