I am not a member of the gun club but I like the pistol matches they put on. I usually just shoot their monthly Steel Challenge match on the second Saturday every month, but my buddy and I decided to shoot their USPSA match this weekend. We used to run the USPSA matches at Fort Campbell but Covid kind of killed those. Now we travel to other matches. Anyone else planning on shooting this match? Sign up is on Practiscore and sign in at the range is at 08:30 with match start at 09:00. Minimum round count is 115 Other regular Matches I go to are: Multigun and Dead Zero shooting park in Spencer, TN. Held on the third Sunday of the month. They fill up fast on Practiscore. Very nice facility that typically has stages with rifle targets from 100-500 yards. You don't see that much at most multigun matches. and they have one stage in a 270 degree bay. It's a long match though. We typically leave around 4 PM MTSA holds monthly USPSA matches too, but on the months that have a 5th Saturday they hold a 2 gun match that is always fun and challenging. Their shooting bays are more limited so the max carbine target distance there is about 50 yards, but the targets vary in size so it's still challenging. I like shooting a suppressed SBR at this match with the shorter range. Again, their registration is on Practiscore and it fills up pretty fast when it opens. I also shoot NRL22 monthly on FT Campell's range 16. I don't make any money off it but I am friends with the match director there so I help with set up because I understand how much work goes into running a match and they don't last long without support from the shooters. They are on the third Saturday of each month. It's one of the better ranges for this type of match. There is a large overhead cover with the concrete slab on the main range so no having to go prone in gravel like some matches and mostly in the shade during the match. The match director has a wide variety of fun and challenging steel targets and props to shoot from. October's match is their big annual NRL22X match that will be at least 10 stages spread out over Range 16 and 17 on the Saturday of Columbus Day Weekend. There is always a nice prize table at the annual X match and dedicated RO's on each stage so you only have to worry about shooting and getting ready for the next stage. No having to take turns on the timer, spotting scope, or scoring tablet. Targets at this match are typically 330 yards or less. I also shoot NRL22 at Strategic Edge range in Chapel Hill, TN on occasion. The Match Director there is a great guy. They shoot on the first Saturday of the month. Their annual X match is in December and it has half the stages shot in the dark. They call it "The Night Match Before Christmas". I also shoot the NRL22 matches at KY Regulators Gun Club in Boaz, KY on occasion. They host a good match and also have an annual X match. Hope to see some of you at these matches. I'm also looking at possibly adding to my monthly match schedule, so if you know of any others in the middle TN or western KY regions please post some in this thread. |
