Got 3 days there late August and no real plans. Will have a car so say anything within 2-3hrs of there. Like hiking, out doors, breweries. Not big on tourist traps. Any recommendations? |

Lots of places to hike in and near there. Turtle river State Park, pembina gorge, Icelandic State Park, lake Bronson. If you like interesting history from the cold war. RSL 3 missile complex museum. And the Ronald Reagan Minuteman missile museum. Not so much cold war. But neat to see, Fargo Air museum. |

Roosevelt national park looks pretty cool but I think it’s just a bit outside day trip range without being painful. RNP is an awesome place as is the area around it. There is some cool camping and hiking. The mah da hey trail is pretty cool.but it is outside your parameters a bit.

Sheyenne national grasslands. I did a lot of boondocking and dispersed camping there. |

The International Peace Gardens at Dunseith... are maybe in range time wise. Head waters of the Mississippi are that far away. |
