| Using hollow point ammo. Glock 23 .40 S&W. Using holster he has worn for at least five years. Don't know how the firearm discharged when he attempted to extract it from holster during training exercise. From timer start to firearm discharge was less than half a second he says. Doesn't know if it was his finger on the trigger or shirt tail or something else that engaged the trigger. |

One would think that a caught shirt tail would be more likely to cause an unintended or negligent discharge on holstering than drawing-- unless the drawstroke involved pushing down on the gun. The thought that loose trigger finger discipline on drawing had a role is supported by your referenced timeframe of about half second. My fastest draw and put a round on target time was about .67 seconds (strongside OWB from concealment). |
