My wife, daughter , & I were in the Cedar Park area last weekend and decided to stop by the new Scheels. I thought it had been open longer and didn't realize it was its 2nd weekend open. I'll just say that if you don't like crowds then you should wait a while before visiting.

For whatever reason, every Scheels I've been to is always busy. The crowds at the one in The Colony have never gone away. And both of them in South Dakota are always tough to find parking for. I hit the one in Wichita once just as they were opening for the day. There was a line at the door. It will probably affect the Dicks Sporting Goods that is a block away the most. They already downsized that store getting rid of the outdoor world section after getting rid of all their guns before that and their sales have continued to decline. I remember years ago doing some work in a Dicks store in San Antonio asking someone from their regional management if they were concerned about the big Academy being built down the street and she said no as they don't consider Academy to be competition.

| I went to it today. It wasn't really crowded at all. It reminded me of a Cabela's and an Academy on steroids with a splash of Buc-Ee's thrown in. All in all, it was really a nice place to explore for awhile. |
