I was in Midland over the weekend. Bought 2k rounds of Black Hills .223 77 grain for 39.95/50. I would have bought more, but the wife thinks 10k rounds is too much. I live in Frisco, and am buying .40, .45, .223 (75 or 77), .308 all over the state. In South Texas (the Valley), Academy has plenty of ammo. I am just pissed that I cannot find PRVI on the internetz anymore.

Considering the availability, and back when Wal-Mart used to have it in stock for only $10 less per 250rd it's not that bad.

Wal-Mart in Lewisville had a couple boxes of .45 Blazer Brass on the shelves at about 7:00pm tonight.

Carter Country I-10 has a crappy selection of ammo priced all priced almost exactly 25% higher than it was four months ago. They do have a small selection of .380 range ammo, not sure of the price on that.

UMC 250 pack of .40 @ $119.

various .40 (Fiocchi, Remington, Blazer Brass) @ $24/50.

Federal XM193 $14/20 as well as in 500 packs for nearly $400 (hahahahahah)

I didn't look at the prices on anything else. They had WWB and various other brands of 9mm, 44mag, and 38spl.

It is kind of sad because for quite a while after the ammo shortages they always had shelves piled with WWB 100 packs and XM193 for a decent price, but it appears those days are over.

Looks like we covered them pretty well today

Midway @ 635 (noted above as having .40) is now out of .40 when I took the last 4 boxes at 6 tonight.  They still had 4 boxes of Blazer brass 9mm, a couple boxes of .45, and at least 1 of .357Mag.  A couple 40-round boxes of .223.

PGBT @ Coit pretty much bare.

PGBT @ N. Garland Ave had tons of .40, not much else for handguns.  Also had quite a bit of the .223 PSP hunting ammo, and more of the 40-round boxes.

Covered the southside Wal-Marts of Dallas today, very little good news.  Not a single box of 9mm, or bulk .22LR.  Every store had maybe 1 box of .357Mag and .45ACP, and the usual assortment of rifle ammo.  Others noted below.  I really need to build a rifle in .22-250, when SHTF you would be a king since you'll apparently be the only one with ammo.

DeSoto Belt Line @ Westmoreland:  Not much

Lancaster Belt Line @ IH35E: Decent amount of .32

Balch Springs Lake June @ IH635: Some .32 as well, not much else.  Had some WWB .45 JHP that I bought.

Mesquite Belt Line @ US80:  Bupkis, although it was interesting that they still sell guns there.  Also saw a guy with a suspiciously heavy fanny pack and likely CCW badge

Mesquite Belt Line @ IH30:  Some .40, a couple boxes of the 40-round .223.

Sigh....

LEO's, active & retired Mil. & other qualified individuals can get ammo at GT Dist. in Austin (Braker north of 183) most of the time, on a limit per month basis. They had some steel case Federal 223 (didn't kow they made it) for $40 per 100 (IIRC). Also pistola & shotgun ammo, except as restricted by Hornady & a few other manufactures. Also have AR mags & guns for a very good price.
