Came here in 2016 from Niagara county... Lived on the East side of Spartanburg, Spartanburg is a culture shock. I now live in Inman just north of Spartanburg. They are building heavily here and destroying all the wooded lots and what used to be farm land. You can live just about anywhere outside Spartanburg and get there within 30 minutes. Prices are a bit higher here as far as housing... my son still lives in WNY and rent and housing prices are actually cheaper there. when I moved to Spartanburg in 2016 we paid $625 for a apartment... that same apartment now rents for $1350. with Upstate SC being one of the largest/fastest growing areas in the country...many people who live here now are from somewhere else. new houses are literally being built on postage stamp size lots 20 feet apart. it is quickly becoming what I left behind...

not sure on the house, my wife takes care of that... but I remember her saying something along the lines of 4% of assessed value. You also have to pay a yearly property tax on each vehicle, based on value...there are some reductions for age and mileage.. I drive a 2004 with 256K and pay just under $100 a year while my wife drives a 2020 and pays $300 a year... I can only imagine what my daughter pays .. she drives a 2025 tahoe. If I'm not mistaken boats are also taxed yearly... I don't own one maybe someone will chime in. |
