I think so. Getting a pistol bay can be a pain in the ass sometimes but the rifle range always has space when I go. The LR bay is the same. The shorter range bays, especially the 50 yard bay (since Tony removed the 50 yard berm on the rifle bay) can be crowded. It's the only 1250 yard range in the area that I know of and not needing a RO (everyone present is considered an RO) is very nice. There are always classes being offered and several are free of charge to members. |

I say Yes. I've been a member for many years now and even with the cost increases over the past few years it is worth it to me. There are very few ranges that offer what SE does - bay combinations, rifle yardage, steel targets everywhere, classes and training, etc. etc. I know there are other outdoor ranges in the area that are quite a bit cheaper but they have restricted hours, restricted yardage, or other constraints that make the cheaper cost less attractive to me, however it really depends on what you are wanting to shoot. If you are primarily a pistol shooter and can only go on the weekends you might be frustrated at times as those bays are in use. If you are primarily rifle, then yes it gets busy but unless there is an active competition I have never been unable to get a bench. What is the average cost of an indoor lane, maybe $20/hr (pending membership discounts)? One of the big name ranges is $300/year for weekday only membership so that clearly shows the Strategic Edge value IMO. |
| I go 3-4 times per year and get my money’s worth on the pistol bays. Being able to run drills in a private, safe environment is worth every penny. I wish there were more 50 yard bays. The current 50 yard bay gets too crowded and I get a little anxious about what other people are doing. |
