| Driving from NY to see in- laws in FL. Was considering going straight thru (besides pulling over for a few hours doze), but am looking at other options. We are a big NHL family so thinking of maybe getting a Cane game in. Looking to stay in Raleigh and looking at Umstead (I have amex fine resort and hotel points so wont really cost me anything). Good to go? Any other recommendations? Should we stay 2 nights and explore? |

Umstead seems really nice. Canes games are popular. Definitely not necessary but I would recommend staying an extra night and exploring the city or greater Triangle area if any of the following sound interesting to you: -State Capitol tour -State science museum -State art museum -Minor league or college baseball -Visiting NC State, Duke, and UNC campuses (museums, shops, restaurants, looking around, etc) |
