Hello, Is there any places in pensacola where they do the cage diving with the sharks ? Not sure on the proper name of it. Looking for things to do later this year. Thanks |

A Feb night beach dive will usually get you face to face with a greater hammerhead while lobstering. Or go lionfish hunting and there will be reef sharks lined up to pet. |

I've never heard of a cage dive in Florida. There are shark dives in Jupiter. But they aren't in a cage, but dives where a DM chums the water and feeds the sharks with you a short distance away. You do get some close encounters as you ascend and the sharks will get curious and you have to push them away. I personally have done one with Emerald charters, I'm not a big fan as I see how they change the behavior of wildlife. Outside of places where sharks are fed, sharks have zero interest in divers. And will often actively swim away with divers. But in areas where shark feeding is common, like Palm Beach county sharks are very aggressive with divers, viewing them as a food source. |
