Can a Nebraska resident buy a long gun in a neighboring state, have it transferred there, and travel home with it? IE: Nebraska resident travels to South Dakota, buys a long gun at a gun store, takes possession of it, and goes back home to Nebraska. Got a couple guys here arguing about it, they asked me. Google was only concerned with handguns. |

| There is no border states rule. A NE resident can buy any legal in NE long guns from an out of state FFL dealer, wait for the phone in or e-check background NICS check take the long gun and go home with it if approved. If you get a delay or deny that that can mess up the time frame. |
