As a follow up to my previous thread asking about Realtors, now it’s time to ask about schools. What are folks experiences with elementary/middle/high schools in the area? Anyone have any knowledge about Wellington Elementary, Jessie Clark Middle, and LaFayette High? Thanks in advance. |

No first hand experience but I know people who's kids attend those schools. Those are solid schools and as public schools go, that's about the best elem-middle-high school combo you're going to get. I would consider Lafayette to be the best (least hood) public high school in the county. My kids were in Veteran's Park Elem, which is one best elem schools, but they would've gone to Tates Creek Middle and Tates Creek High which are hard NO's due them getting mixed in with the Centre Pkwy sec 8 types when they got to middle & high. |

So, Tates Creek middle and high are probably out. Their ratings for academic rigor are also not great. “Not hood” is a solid plus in my book. I’m in no hurry for my kids to get TBIs, but the rest of it sounds good. Any opinions on Liberty elementary, Edythe Jones Middle, or Henry Clay high? Saw a house out there that caught my attention. |

The affected area is the whole county, and yes taxes have gone up and are going to keep going up There's a big s*** storm around fayette county public schools (FCPS) right now. The amount of waste is incredible, no matter how much revenue comes in they always seem to have a shortfall Hopefully people are waking up and there will be an adjustment |

Between (checks notes) Shillito Park and a Publix? When did Publix get to KY? Still hammering out any repair details for the seller to fix, so we haven’t closed just yet. |

That's a good area. Close to the shopping on Nicholasville road but you have Clays Mill to avoid traffic (depending on time of day). You'll figure out the patterns and adjust. That's close to Stonewall hill too, best sledding in Lexington That Publix just opened this year. I've only been there a couple times, good buritos for the price. There's been rumor of a Costco going in around Brannon Crossing/north Jessamine County for a few years now. I'll believe it when I see it. There's a Sam's Club out that way already House repairs can suck around here. It's hard to find good people to work on anything. Just about everything I end up doing myself |

As long as people keep inflating the prices on houses and pay for them. Taxes will go up as your property value increases. |
