Where are you located? Are you willing to travel a bit if needed? Removal is quick and easy with a dremel and cutting wheel. Installation is also easy if you have a welder. I don’t.  Have you considered going the SBR route and then. It worrying about barrel length? Especially if you’re going with a mount for a suppressor, it could be beneficial to have the ability to change mounts or any muzzle device whenever you want. |

Valid point and ultimately I may well go that route. But I do love this particular AR and would love to run it suppressed, so if there’s someone local able to do it I’m inclined to get it done (building another AR is of course not exclusive to this) |

Indeed my bad, I forgot about my thread having had the work done. Saying I avoided cooperation is a stretch tho, and that I wasn’t willing to travel is flat out inaccurate Tony at RTD Arms in Bedford got this done for me. Top notch service and price was reasonable. Was able to pick it up on a Saturday which was a huge convenience for me and I appreciated. Ended up chatting for almost an hour talking guns etc. Would highly recommend him and his shop |
