Registration paperwork?

I had a friend who picked up his firearm permit/registered yesterday. The cop at the desk told him he has to have his registration paperwork with the gun at all times. Is that new? Never heard that before.

I wouldn’t carry it with me when i go to the range. Losing it would open it up to identity theft. If HPD wants to know who is the owner, they can call in or use the computer is their cars
